FACE TO FACE CHART AUDITS COMING YOUR WAY………
CMS has instructed Palmetto GBA to complete a massive “Probe and Educate” initiative that will impact and touch every single home health provider in the Palmetto Intermediary region.
Palmetto GBA has recently announced that beginning October 1, 2015, they will request 5 records from every Medicare home health provider within its 16-state jurisdiction.
This will be an intense review of all the Medicare certification requirements, but it will specifically focus on the elements of the F2F requirement.
Since agencies still have so many questions and could be at risk for denials if the F2F documentation does not meet CMS standards, it is imperative that agencies get the most up-to-date information and guidance on this issue. Additionally, agencies need guidance and recommendations on how to be compliant and avoid denials.
